Last year, Wise Blood celebrated fast and filthy heavy metal with a four-band split called Faster Than the Fucking Devil. With the intention of turning that split into an annual series, Faster Than the Devil 2 is a savage sequel featuring music from four more of the underground’s nastiest thrashers.

Pittsburgh Death/Thrash executioners VICIOUS BLADE kick off the bloodshed. Clarissa Badini’s electrifying stage presence snarls through the mix as they keep it lean ‘n’ mean with three straight moshers. Black/Thrash cosmonauts BLASTED HEATH released their debut album "Vela" with Wise Blood in 2022. The Indianapolis quartet launch the album through deep space into a dimension where Quorthon is alive and king.

Side B revs up with THE GAUNTLET’s mysterious dungeon metal. Their music has been called “stadium Bathory,” which rules. But The Gauntlet’s collision of epic scope and basement black 'n' roll transcends homage. The split concludes with three nasty tracks selected from the BASTARD CRÖSS EP, "Beasts of the Night." These Philadelphia blasphemers originally released these evil bangers exclusively on hand-dubbed cassettes.

The cover art by Davide Mancini captures reverence for extreme metal history with a contemporary edge. Inspired by historic splits and compilations like Warfare Noise and Speed Kills, Wise Blood will continue the series in 2024. Until then, you have been summoned to the (hell)pit to rage with Faster Than the Devil 2. Available on Vinyl, CD, Cassette, and Digital from Wise Blood Records on September 29th, 2023.

I've gotten myself into GR by first getting their last album, then decided to give this one a go too. Atoms divide, life decays, seems we are into nuclear explosions here, that is how GR feels, a powerful and fast blitz and stormy riffs and groovy hardcorish - thrashy blasts. Highly recommended for all thrash lovers out there. Toxic Holocaust does come in mind, true that, Wraith, Municipal Waste fans should love this ! sachavonkarl74
